I’m working on getting videos on the blog.  So to test them out I uploaded two videos that I found on my camera today (thanks to Kelley for taking them).  They are videos from my band MDPs “last?” show in Butte Montana on March 7th.. they are wonderful or horrible.. you decide.

Another one for Justin

coming up on the two year anniversary of the death of an amazing person and my best friend..

This caught my ear, Remembered Forever by Tiger Army

Sometimes I think back to those nights so long ago
A time of youth and innocence
Always searched for something, what I didn’t know
‘Til I found you
Yeah, I’ll never forget that feeling
The rush was insane
And sometimes when the sun is setting
My memories take me so far away

Sometimes I wish that things just could’ve stayed the same
You know that time can break your heart just to see the way things change
Waves of emotion brought on by a song
But now you’re gone, and time marches on

And I will never forget, never forget you
Never forget, never forget you
Those crazy times you helped me through
And I will never forget, never forget you

Sometimes something reminds me
And takes me so far back..
A part of me will always stay there
In the shadows of the past
Where would I have ended up without you?
So far gone
You changed the world of a young man
A reason to hold on

I remember you close to me and you whispered in the dark,
“The time will come for you to go you must forget me not”
What it meant is known by precious few
But rest assured I will remember until my life is through

And I will never forget, never forget you
Never forget, never forget you
The crazy shit we made it through
And I will never forget, never forget you

So many years on..
Where has it gone?

Life goes easy on me, most of the time

After saying that I’d have new bowling pictures uploaded once a week we decided not to bowl this past Monday, for the first time in almost 2 months. I’ll resume the act of drunken bowling next Monday, I promise!

Last night Jackie and I got together for one of our baking sessions, this one is climbing the awesome charts. We had planned on making blueberry muffins but ended up with a pancake and omelet dinner that didn’t stop there. We wanted to experiment with our pancakes and ended up making 5 different types of pancakes,  rating them all on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the highest).. we wrote down all of the types and scores so I’ll post them, I strongly recommend making #2, they were amazing… oh and yogurt makes any pancake so good, screw milk.

  1. Chocolate chip, Cinnamon, Applesauce and Yogurt Pancakes
Rylan: 3 out of 5   Jackie: 4 out of 5
  2. Peanut Butter, Yogurt, banana’s and Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Rylan: 4.5 out of 5  Jackie: 5 out of 5
  3. Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Yogurt and Applesauce Pancakes
Rylan: 3 out of 5  Jackie: 4 out of 5
  4. Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Yogurt and Banana Pancakes
Rylan: 2 out of 5  Jackie: 3 out of 5
  5. Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Yogurt, Banana, Applesauce and Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Rylan: 2 out of 5  Jackie: 2 out of 5

Anyway I’ve still got some pictures to post from Monday night, It was my first night drinking at the Haufbrau Bar here in Bozeman and I found the greatest condom dispenser ever in the bathroom.

Am I cut out for this?

I saw Gran Torino recently and thought it was an outstanding movie. I’m no movie critique but Clint Eastwood was great, not only able to still show that he could kick ass at 79 but hes also a great director and one hell of a funny guy. I won’t spend much more time on it but I have to thank Clint Eastwood for making racism funny again! I’ve wondered if it is a totally different experience watching that movie somewhere more diverse than good ol’ Montana (The ENTIRE audience was white) but we all laughed so hard at every slur, maybe its just he way Clint does it because I’m no racist but goodness that movie was hilarious.

In the past month+ a bunch of my friends and I have been bowling every Monday night ($1.50 games after 9:30pm). Its a great time for all of us, especially when its been over a month and some of us still are horrible (my last two game total was 200). We came up with the idea of adding themes to our bowling and changing the theme weekly to add even more fun, so far the themes have been things like sweaters, sleeveless shirts, cut-off jeans, and pajamas. Last week was the first time we brought cameras and I’ve uploaded both last weeks and this weeks pictures from my camera, check them out because they are hilarious!! As long as I don’t forget to bring my camera I’ll be uploading pictures weekly, this means I’m going to blog at least once a week.. YAY!

Here are slide shows of the last two weeks..

There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

I have been insanely busy since my last blog, and I do mean insanely busy. Life is throwing me around like a rag doll but I’m loving each and every minute of it,  the way I see it I’m just letting things play as they should.  Am I wrong?

I got a break this weekend and the three days seem like one, it went like this..
Thursday started as usual with a night at Old Chicago with my friends and a bottle of whiskey in my pocket which lasted surprisingly all night, we drank dollar Pabst and ate pizza that smelled horrible, I only note the smell because I worried that I smelled like it all night (I randomly forced friends to smell me). Moving on we ended up at the Molly brown to play pool and drink $1.75 cold smokes with some outstanding people who managed to spill drinks on me and still make me love them while we played pool for the entire night, eventually my partner left because I kept sinking the 8-ball by accident .. thats my last clear memory aside from buying random people drinks and yelling “Hi” to anyone I knew as I raced to the bathroom to finish my whiskey.. lucky for me that night I wasn’t driving.
Friday I woke to an offer to go skiing which I should have taken but decided instead to save my money and not throw up on anyone considering I was still drunk until Loren and I went to breakfast and i drank two pots of coffee at the cat eye. The day progressed and Ben and I planned to attend a birthday party where we would drink robo instead of the insane amounts of vodka that everyone else had, this turned out to be a good idea considering everyone was wasted and I got to played responsible man with Rob (who is way better at resposible man than I am).. I was responsible man for a minute anyway, until I was alone taking care of my passed out friend when the robo kicked in and I felt like I was in a Guy Ritchie film, back against a door and afraid of death by angry foreigners under heavy influences of vodka.. this went on for hours until everyone left and I was able to go home and pass out.
Saturday I nursed my stomach and slept until after 6pm when I was late for dinner with Rob, Justin, Kelcie, and Grant. Dinner was amazing and so were the board games we played.. I didn’t get drunk until we decided to go out and I quickly downed a Steel Reserve (always a good start, right?). We played pool at K.O’s with two dollar double whiskey cokes.. no ice of course for a while until meeting Rob and Ross at the Bacchus for great drinks and beautiful people. Lucky for me the night ended early because I wasn’t driving.. I woke up today and pieced together my three days of fun.
Boy did I need that..

In non-alcohol related news, i’ve got some very crazy life decisions to make soon. I’ll post about them once they are more concrete, wish me luck..

I believe, I believe

The show on Saturday went better than I expected. Gerrityfest was a garage show with 7 bands playing from 3 in the afternoon to 8pm and we didn’t get any complaints!! It went great! Our set (MDP) went over better than expected, meaning people actually liked us *thumbs up pose*.
Jays band Cheat With Both Hands was really entertaining considering that Jay dances around like I wish I could. The Thug Nasties were great with their drummer wearing a pink bunny suit and Chris Justice thrusting his crotch at everyone while we danced.  Jinx Removing played one of the best sets i’ve seen in a long time, Grants lost his glasses from rocking, Ross’ voice sounded amazing and Taylors drumming was perfect. Also The Bottle Kids did really great, Jake is a good guitarist. Out The Lights was awesome and entertained like always by covering Eddie Moneys “Take Me Home Tonight” which is one of my favorite songs ever!  All in all it was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to play with any of those bands again, hopefully i’ll get some pictures up from that show.

Before I sat down to type this blog up I had just ran 3.5 miles with Ross which might not sound like  a lot but to me its a ton! I’m trying to get back into focusing on fitness and running is a great work out so I really impressed myself by keeping up (he slowed down) with Ross for 3 and a half miles. Your body feels really great after a run, I can see how real runners can love it so much.

Thats it for now, i’ve got to go get a salad ready to bring to Ross’ for dinner.. Quick music note, i’ve been in love with The Thermals lately and everyone should really give them a listen.

pull up a chair, I hope you got all night

Life has been really fun lately and not just because I started drinking again either, even though it does spice up  any occasion.  I’ve been spending a lot of time with friends for the past couple months instead of sitting around at home dwelling on the future and past.   Now i’m focusing on the present and at present I have some amazing people in my life who will most likely be parting ways soon so I’m going to enjoy them while I can, I’d name drop them all but I think only two of them read this so.. HI!
**end sappy intro

Okay so a while ago I posted for you all to check out my “band” and if anyone did you saw how amazing and hilarious it is. The joke is that we are a pro-police, pro-republican, anti-punk, 80’s hardcore band named “Millions of Dead Punks” not to be confused with the hardcore band “MDC” (Millions of Dead Cops). We sing songs about reganomics, maverickism, Mccain, Palin (and her beauty), and about being the sons of officers. We’re having a load of fun doing this and tomorrow is our third show!! I’m hopefully going to get someone to take pictures and i’ll get some posted here soon. Anyway band practice is calling..wish us luck for tomorrow. TTFN!
